10/10 Q’s Pick

The Main Point

The Corsair 4000 Series PC Cases Review was great. During our review, building in it was a piece of cake. After the build was finished, it was also a beautiful sight to behold. With all of the features that this thing packs for the price, it is an amazing case and fully worthy of the Q’s Pick rating.

The Good

The included cable routing tray works very well

  • The tempered glass side panel looks amazing
  • Front panel usb c
  • Amazing airflow and very easy to get dust out of

The Bad

  •  If it was 10 dollars cheaper, it would probably be the best value pc case by far

The new 4000 line of corsair cases is amazing. They all are great values for their prices ( unless the prices have been raised). The amount of high end features that they have been able to pack in for this price is amazing. It fully deserves the Q’s Pick rating that we gave it. I truly love this case. We have the airflow model in white, and it has great airflow, cable management and dust filtration. It also has a bunch more features that we will talk about later. The blue fans in the case were fans that I already owned.

Design

Corsair has done an amazing job designing this case. The tempered glass side panel looks beautiful. There are also little bumps where the thumbscrews for the side panels and ssd mounts go. These allow you to unscrew the thumbscrew from the case, but not the ssd mount or side panel. This makes it very easy to avoid losing those tiny thumbscrews. Also, all of the pci slot covers have thumbscrews, so you can easily take them out and put them back in. It can fit up to an atx motherboard and 6 fans. On the airflow model, they keep the same triangle shaped hole design across the entire case. The new corsair yellow is also used in a couple spots around the case, and I have to say that I kind of like it. You can mount the ssd brackets either in front or back. The power supply shroud leaves plenty of space inside the case. There is also a slot for vertically mounting your gpu, if you have one that looks really good. There are no cable grommets, but there is a bar quite similar to the one in NZXT cases. On the 4000D, there is a flat front panel, and on the 4000X there is a tempered glass front panel. You can easily remove the front panel on all of them by pulling it from one side. Overall, it has been beautifully designed.

Cable Management

This case has great cable management options. There is a routing tray in the back that has velcro cable ties along it. The front panel connectors are already run through this channel for you. If you want, you could take these out, but I think it makes managing easier. You can easily run your 16 pin connector through this, or any others cables that would be convenient. There is plenty of space in the power supply shroud for extra cables. Also, if you have no 3.5 inch hard drives, you can remove the hard drive cage for extra space. There is a ton of clearance between the side panel and case, so you can easily have a couple cables tied together without it being too thick. There are two holes in the top of the power supply shroud that allow you to connect your front panel connects, sata cables, and pcie cables. Also, there are multiple holes along the top of the motherboard tray for cables, and multiple holes along the front panel for fan cables. Cable managing in this case was a breeze, and I used a non-modular power supply and a micro atx motherboard.

Included Items

This case actually has quite a few included extras. The 4000D versions both include 2 fans, while the 4000X includes 3 of Corsair’s RGB fans. That makes the 4000X a really good deal as 1 of Corsair’s RGB fans normally costs $39.99, and the case with 3 of the fans is $119.99. The 4000X also includes a Corsair RGB lighting node. The cases also include 2 ssd brackets. It would be possible to mount four though, as there are two mounting spots in the front, and two in the back. It also includes 3 more velcro ties, but I wasn’t able to find any way to use these. Another thing that it includes are 20 fan screws, which is probably plenty for you, unless you mount more than four fans. Finally it includes 18 motherboard/hard drive screws, 8 ssd screws, 1 motherboard standoff ( other than the preinstalled ones), 8 washers and 12 cable ties. I was actually able to build a pc in this case without using any other cable ties than the ones included. And I still have extras! That should help show how easy cable management is in this case. It also shows how many extras they through in with this case.

Airflow

I can’t speak for the airflow in the 4000D or 4000X, but the airflow in the the 4000D airflow is great. I have four fans mounted in it, and the temperatures have have been great. It is also surprisingly quiet for how much ventilation it has. With headphones you can’t hear it at all, and without headphones it is still quite quiet. This case also has great dust filtration. There is a filter on the bottom for the power supply, which you can easily slide out from the back to clean. There is also a magnetic dust filter on the top of the case for the two mountable fans up there. When you take off the front panel cover, you can easily pull out the dust filter to clean it, and then just pop it back in. All of the case models have the same dust filters and mounting brackets. You can have up to a 360mm radiator in the front and a 280mm on top.
