Ads Now Show On All Youtube Videos

Ads are now going to start showing on all Youtube videos

The Main Point

Today is a sad day for all creators on Youtube that don’t like showing ads. Ads are now shown on all Youtube videos, whether you want them, or not. Youtube says that this will allow for more effective advertising on Youtube, but it seems quite inconsiderate for creators. Anyway, there isn’t really much that you can do about it.

Youtube is starting to become more like a big, evil corporation. They just changed their policies, and it wasn’t good. Now, even if you have monetisation turned off, Youtube will still put ads on your videos. This is a big hit for creators that didn’t like to have ads on their videos. It is quite sad that Youtube would do this, because they normally have quite a good relationship with their creators. Youtube used to be one of the nicer companies out there, but this might be a sign of change.

What all changed

This new policy came in an update to Youtube’s terms of service. This was quite a small update to the terms of service, and these new ad policies were the only big change. Most creators probably didn’t notice this change, as most people don’t pay too much attention to the terms of service. Youtube’s ads used to only be shown on videos that had monetisation enabled, but they are now going to be shown on all videos. The Youtube Partner Program is going to slowly start showing ads on all brand safe videos. So, even if you aren’t a Youtube Partner, you will still have ads on Videos you make. This change is currently being rolled out to creators in the US. It will come to other countries in 2021. Thankfully, you will still be able to apply for being a Youtube Partner, as long as you meet the requirements.

Why is this a problem?

This is quite a big problem for any creators that didn’t like showing ads on their videos. Some people just enjoy creating videos to entertain or teach people. Others have other ways of income, such as Patreon or merch. Now, whether the creator likes it or not, ads will be shown on their videos. This is quite greedy of Youtube, because they will probably just get all of the money from these ads. Hopefully this isn’t a sign that Youtube is starting to change and act like one of those big, evil companies. Many creators tried to thank their viewers for supporting them by turning off ads, but now they don’t have that option. So, if a creator that you watch starts to have ads, don’t get mad at them.
